Our Focal Points

Faith is First
Faithful to the teachings of the Catholic Church, our faith is living and vibrant and permeates all we are and do, in the classroom and out. It is from our active response to faith that all other aspects of our school flow.
Academics are Rigorous
Our Faculty and Staff are dedicated to providing the best possible educational experience and opportunities for our students. Using both the latest in texts and teaching techniques, to tried-and-true methods, we combine both classroom and hands-on learning experiences to ensure that each of our children can succeed academically. St. Thomas graduates have become noticed within our community and are just expected to be bright.
Climate is Peaceful and Disciplined
Our mission calls for a supportive and respectful environment, and our students live up to that expectation. Great effort is made to promote a peaceful, positive and proactive approach to discipline. We believe the root of discipline is to “Disciple” and draw out the giftedness in each child. All of this begins with the ability to examine one’s words and actions in light of our faith, and to take personal responsibility to be the person God created us to be.
Parents are Empowered
We recognize parents as the first and primary teachers of their children. As a result, we believe the more parents become actively involved in the educational process, the better their children will do. At St. Thomas we partner with parents making them joint decision-makers and utilizing their gifts to enhance our programs and offerings. Our VIP (Volunteers In Partnership) Program has over 200 parents, grandparents, and parishioners who volunteer their time and talents on over 50 different committees or specific volunteer opportunities.
Technology is Optimized
Technology is of twofold importance in education today. It is an educational tool that brings us into communication with the rest of the world, puts facts and research at our fingertips and helps us to better shape our global perspective. Its various applications must also be mastered if our students are to succeed in future educational and career endeavors. St. Thomas employs a full-time Technology Coordinator to keep all technology and applications up-to-date, and to do on-site training to ensure the most efficient use of the many tools and application that have been generously provided for our use. Our parish is committed to a regular schedule of maintenance and replacement, which has allowed us to provide one of the highest computer-to-student ratios in the diocese.
Leaders are Formed
Leadership formation is at the heart of what we do. It involves educating the whole person, and helping each student to develop strong character. As students progress through their years at St. Thomas, they are taught the core values, qualities, and characteristics of leadership and given many opportunities to lead their younger peers. Students want to emulate the fine examples of the faculty and older students. Culminating in a Leadership Retreat in the seventh grade that prepares them to lead the school as eighth graders, our students are empowered with the tools and strength of character that will help them to be future leaders within our community, country, and world. Leadership formation, together with the other unique qualities mentioned above, has attracted many community leaders to enroll their children at St. Thomas School.
