Technology
Technology became a major priority for the school’s Long range Plan in the 1990’s. Saint Thomas took a major step ahead with the implementation of the first stage of its Technology Plan. With each student’s unique learning needs and style in mind, a technologically rich instructional delivery system was designed and implemented in our new Computer Lab and Media Center. This fully automated Media Center combined the current library with a new, 23-station Computer Lab. The plan also added multi-media stations in each classroom and networked all computers together throughout the school and parish, thereby forming a local area network for voice (telephone), video and data (computer). This endeavor made the Media center and Computer Lab the informational hub of the school. High-speed Internet access was then made available throughout the school. The addition of a mobile computer lab has further enhanced our ability to use technology as an instructional tool throughout our program.
